Prizes of $599 or Below: Claim at any Texas Lottery retailer. If a retailer can't pay immediately, they may issue a check or money order. Alternatively, visit a local claim center, the Lottery Commission in Austin, or mail in your ticket.
Prizes from $600 to $5 Million: Visit a local claim center, the Lottery Commission in Austin, or mail in your ticket. For prizes from $2.5 million to $5 million, only select claim centers (Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio) can process your claim.
Above $5 Million: Claim in person at the Lottery Commission headquarters in Austin. Call 800-375-6886 to schedule.
For prizes up to $5 million, complete a claim form for any amount over $25, sign the back of your ticket, and include your Social Security/Tax ID Number along with valid photo ID. Send to:

There is no state tax on lottery or scratch wins in Texas, but if you win more than $5,000 your prize will be subject to a 24% federal tax withholding rate. For non-resident aliens (someone who is not a US citizen or resident), the tax rate is 30% on prizes above $600.
