Second Chance info for Pennsylvania

Second Chance Drawings give you more opportunities to win great prizes in Pennsylvania, so even if you have a losing scratch-off ticket you could end up receiving a large payout. Find out how it works.

VIP Players Club

To enjoy Second Chance drawings, you need to be a member of the PA Lottery’s VIP Players Club. It’s easy to create a free account and just takes a few moments – all you need to do is provide a couple of details.

Look out for upcoming promotions and make a note of the entry deadline. Not all scratch-offs are eligible – a promotion will usually have a theme such as Christmas or Valentine’s Day, so the qualifying games are related.

Keep hold of any non-winning tickets for those qualifying games and make sure to enter them before the deadline. You can do this in a couple of ways – by using the PA Lottery app to scan the scratch-off’s barcode or by typing in the entry number and ticket number on the website.

You can log on to your account at any time to check your entries. There’s no limit to how many you can submit - the more you have, the better your chances of winning. Once you have entered, sit back and wait for the draw to take place. The overall odds also depend on the total number of entries submitted.

Second Chance Prizes

Each drawing has multiple prizes, with winners selected at random and announced shortly afterwards. For example, the St Patrick’s Day-themed ‘Four Leaf Luck’ promotion awarded four prizes of $17,000, four prizes of $7,000 and three of $3,000. A further 50 players also received $100 online play bonus money.

The Pennsylvania Lottery will notify you within three days of the results being announced, along with a link to a claim form. You don’t need the original tickets to claim your prize, but you will need to come forward within one year of the Second Chance draw.
