Before you do anything else, you'll want to sign the back of your instant game ticket to prove that you have full ownership. Otherwise anybody can use it to claim your prize! You have 365 days from the scratch off game end date to be able to still make your claim. Please allow up to five business days for processing your claim.
You can visit any Maine State Lottery retail agent location to claim any prize up to $600.
If you need to claim a prize of $600 or more, you have the option to either claim in-person at the Maine lottery office in Augusta, by mail or courier, or in person at a Lottery Retail Agent location.
If you are claiming in-person, you will need to bring a valid for of government issued photo I.D., with your signed winning ticket. If you are claiming a Lottery Retail Agent location, the same appies, and you will need to complete the form that the clerk will provide to receive your winnings.

If you are going to claim your scratch off winnings by mail, be sure to include a completed Claim Form, and fill out the information on the back of your winning ticket. Please make a copy of the front and back of your winning ticket, as well as a copy of the Claim Form for your own records. Staple your winning ticket to the filled in form and mail to the address below.
The Maine Lottery is required to withold 24% in Federal tax, as well as 7.15% in state tax, on lottery winnings over $5,000. Final tax amount owed may change depending on your own tax situation.
