So you've won a scratch off prize in Arkansas, but now what? The amount that you win will change how you are able to claim your winnings. Check below to find out which claiming method will suit you.
Whichever way you use, sign the back of the ticket and be suure to claim within the 180 days of the game's expiry date
For all prizes that are below $500, you can claim at a liscensed lottery retailer; this includes Walmarts and Kroger locations! Please note that retailers are not required to hold sums of money on site, therefore while unlikely, they may be unable to pay your prize at the time of your request. In this scenario, it is recommended to try another location.
Any prizes over $500 are required to be claimed at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center or by mail.
For any prizes above $1 million, you will need to claim your winnings in person a the Claim Center. Be sure to contact the Claim Center before you visit, so that you can make an appointment.
You can claim any scratch card prize by mail if it is under $1 million. All you need to do is print off a claim form, make a copy of your photo ID (for example, a driver's license, U.S. passport, passport issued by a foreign government, U.S. Armed Forces I.D., U.S. Bureau of citizenship and Immigration Services I.D.). Include the signed winning ticket, claim form, your copy of the I.D., and mail it to the below address.
Please be aware that the Arkansas Lottery will never ask you for money or any fee in order to process the winning ticket. Before your winnings are released, federal taxes will be applied to the prize at 24% on amounts above $5,000, in addition to the 3.9%. Additionally, any prizes that are $600 or more will be reported to the IRS and a W2-G form is required to be issued.
