Claiming Prizes in Washington D.C

To claim your lottery prize in Washington DC, you have different options depending on the amount that you win. For any scratch game prize you win up to $600, you can claim at any DC Lottery Retailer or by mail. Please note that if you are claiming in person, a retailer may not have the necessary funds to give you your winnings.

For any lottery prize that you win up to $5,000 you can visit a Retailer Plus location, or claim via mail. If claiming a prize over $600, you must bring the original winning ticket (signed on the back), a valid form of photo ID, your original Social Security card (which must exactly match the name on your photo ID), and an Office of Lottery and Gaming claim form.

The DC Lottery will initiate a bank-to-bank wire transfer to your local financial institution, in the even that you win $250,000 or more.
