Claiming Prizes in South Carolina

Claiming Winnings Based on Prize Value

For prizes up to $500, you can claim your winnings at any official retailer in South Carolina, provided that the store has enough funds. The store is not obligated to have sufficient monies for prize claims, and can pay by cash, store check, money order, or a combination.

If you win between $501 and $100,000 you can either claim your prize by mail or at the Columbia Claims Center.

Any prize above $100,000 must be claimed in person at the South Carolina Education Lottery Headquarters in Columbia. For an in person claim you will need to bring your signed ticket, a completed claim form, a government-issued photo ID, as well as your Social Security card to the appointment.

Remember that regardless of how much you win, you will only have 90 days after the official end of the game to be able to claim your prize.
