Second Chance info in Oregon

Second Chance drawings provide you with a bonus opportunity to win the top prize that you missed out on the first time around. Make sure you don’t throw away any non-winning scratch-its - you can enter them in a matter of seconds.

Two Ways To Enter

The Oregon Lottery regularly holds Second Chance draws for each scratch-it that it sells. For each game, you’ll find details of the scheduled date for the next draw and the entry deadline.

There are two ways to enter a losing ticket that you have, but first you must create a My Lottery account. It’s free to sign up and then you just need to select the Second Chance option. You’ll have to answer a couple of questions to verify your identity and age, allowing you to start entering tickets.

You can participate without being a resident of the Beaver State, but you have to enter while you are in Oregon.

The easiest method for submitting your non-winning tickets is to use the Oregon Lottery app. Scan the barcode and you will be asked if you want to enter it into Second Chance. Alternatively, you type in the required ticket information online through the Oregon Lottery website.

All entries are automatically verified when entered. If an error shows, you can start the process again, or it may be that you are submitting an ineligible ticket - for example a winning ticket, or one for a draw that has already passed.

Second Chance Prizes

In each draw, one entry is selected at random from all the entries that have been submitted. This means that your odds of winning are entirely dependent on two factors – the number of total entries into the draw, and how many tickets you submit yourself. There is no limit to how many non-losing tickets you can enter.

There is only one prize in each Second Chance draw, and it is the same amount as the top payout you could win on that particular scratch-it.

You will be notified automatically if you win a Second Chance draw, and you then have 60 days to claim your prize.
