Claiming Prizes in Missouri

If you’re lucky enough to win a Missouri Lottery scratch off prize then congratulations! Now it’s time to find out how easy it is to claim your winnings. The way you need to claim will depend on how much you win.

Before you do either, it’s important to remember that you only have 180 days from the official end of the scratch off for you to claim your prize.

When you win a scratch off in Missouri, your name will not be automatically disclosed. Your consent will be required if you would like to release your information publically.

Claiming By Prize Value

For prizes $600 or less you can usually redeem your winning ticket from any authorized Missouri Lottery retailer, providing the store sells the specific game and that the store has enough cash on hand.

For prizes for $600.01 or more, appointments can be made to collect your winnings from one of Missouri Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City, as well as the Springfield, St. Louis and Kansas City regional offices, by appointment only.

Claiming by Mail

You are able to claim Missouri prizes of any value by mail, but please note that any prizes over $600.01 will also require a claim form, a copy of government issues photo ID, and a filled-out IRS Form W-9. It is also recommended that you keep a copy of the front and the back of your winning ticket for your records.
