A 30-year-old Cheboygan County man became the first winner in July 2023, setting a new state record in the process. He bought his game at Vanderbilt Downtown EZ Mart, located at 8114 Mill Street in Vanderbilt, and described it as ‘really unreal’ when he found out that he had won. The lucky winner took the lump sum payout of $4.1 million rather than the annual payments, and said he would use the money to take a trip to Disneyland.
A 69-year-old woman from Genesee County stepped forward as the second $6 million winner just a few days later, having bought her ticket at Pure Market located at 8475 Main Street in Whitmore Lake. The final winner was a 56-year-old woman from Shiawassee County, who had to ask the gas station clerk if what she was seeing was real when she discovered she had landed $6 million. She bought her ticket from the Clark gas station at 252 South Main Street in Lapeer. Both women also decided to take the cash rather than the annuity option.
