The First $10 Million Win
The Illinois lottery launched its first-ever $50 scratch-off game, simply called $10 Million, in December 2023, and within a few months someone had hit one of the three top prizes up for grabs. The winning ticket was sold at Casey’s convenience store, located at 3499 Fosterburg Road in Alton, IL, a city on the Mississippi River. The lucky player said they would start a college fund for their daughter and buy a new house with more garage space so they could keep a few vintage cars.
Big Thanksgiving Payout in Countryside
A scratch-off player from the Greater Chicago area had a lot to be thankful for during the Thanksgiving celebrations of 2024 after winning $10 million with a ticket purchased at Jewel-Osco in Countryside, at 5545 South Brainard Avenue. The winner decided to stay anonymous, while the Jewel-Osco store received a one percent bonus worth $100,000.
South Elgin Speedway Sells $10 Million Ticket
The third and final $10 Million ticket in the Illinois Lottey’s biggest-ever game was purchased at a Speedway gas station in the 1700 block of North La Fox Street in South Elgin. The winner claimed their money in January 2025, making it the perfect start to the new year.
