Redeeming prizes from the CA lottery is a straight-forward process, the only thing you need to take note of is which option applies to you!
While within the state of Idaho, you can claim ID scratch game prizes of up to $599 or less from any Idaho Lottery retail location. If you have won an Idaho scratch off and you are outside of the state, you have the option to claim any amount by mail. A claim for is only necessary for single prizes that are over $599.
Be sure to sign the back of your winning ticket no matter which claiming method you choose for your prize.
For claiming prizes over $600 you'll need to print off and fill out a claim form.
For any claims by mail, please send your signed winning ticket, a completed claim form, and a copy of your driver's license or goverment issued photo ID to the below address. It is advised to also create a photocopy of the front AND back of your winning tickets, plus any claim form to keep for your own record. If you do not sign the ticket, you cannot receive your winnings. Additionally, if you do not fully complete the claim form, it will be returned to you for completion.

Lottery prizes of $600 and above will be subject to a state tax rate of approximatey 6.93%, potentially 7.8%, depending on total income and tax bracket. The Idaho Lottery is also required to withold 24% federal tax on prizes over $5,000.
